Some people seem born to set trends and create amazing things, that is the case with Doe Deere. Born in Russia, she moved to New York, where she grew up and studied fashion. She began her career by launching her own online clothing company, before she became the CEO and founder of Lime Crime Cosmetics.
It is almost as if her cosmetics line was meant to be. It came about because she wanted bold, bright, colors that would complement her clothing line. When she couldn’t find the colors in stores, she followed her own creative instincts and whipped them up herself.
In 2008 these cosmetics were used to launch Lime Crime, making Doe Deere one of the first successful, female, online cosmetic entrepreneurs. Here colors are made to be shown off, they stand out and are perfect for the person who isn’t afraid to be themselves.
These days Doe Deere and her Lime Crime cosmetics office, is in Los Angeles, California. While her location may have changed, her commitment to quality cosmetics that are vegan and cruelty-free has remained the same. The company mascot is a unicorn, and she’s known as the Unicorn Queen of color.
Make up lovers flock to her rainbow hued liners and nail polishes, glittery glosses, bright lipsticks and more. Doe Deere is a self confessed lover of fairy tales, and cosmetics, and she has managed to combine the two. Her colors are unique and lovely enough to adorn the face of any princess. They let the wearer bring out their true, inner spirit and that’s just what they are meant to do.
These days Lime Crimes cosmetics can still be found online, but they also can be found on the shelves of many retailers in the United States and abroad. The way the company has grown is a testament that when you find something that you love to do, and you have the determination to be successful, you can do amazing things.
While the company’s focus is about compassion for all living things, it’s also focused on beauty being fun. This is something that Doe Deere has always believed. When you’re putting on your makeup, you should be happy and it should be fun. Think back to when you were a child and got to play in your mom’s makeup box. Find that inner child again, experiment, don’t be afraid of color, and just have a great time. That’s what Lime Crime is all about.
