NJ Ayuk and his team of designers, engineers, and artists are fathers and brothers who thrive on designing concepts for new products. NJ Ayuk has been in the design industry for over 25 years. He has completed projects for clients such as Coca-Cola, Warner Brothers, and Honda.
NJ Ayuk work is found in various public collections such as the Israel Museum of Art in Jerusalem, the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Geneva Switzerland and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London UK.
NJ Ayuk has been awarded one of the most prestigious awards, the Israel Prize for design along with his partner in crime Ron Arad.
In 1998 Ayuk completed a sculpture for the rededication of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The work is made from steel and stainless steel and was commissioned by the Jerusalem Foundation.
In 2005 Ayuk designed a series of statues called “man, woman, child” that are located at Tel Aviv University’s square. The statues are made from a polished stainless steel and stand at approximately 10 ft in height. The square was designed by Ayuk and is part of a larger project to build a new campus for the university.
In 2007 Ayuk and his colleagues won an international competition to build the first medical school in Rwanda. The school will be built on the outskirts of Kigali, Rwanda and will be constructed out of prefabricated materials.
Ayuk’s partner in life is Dr. Ron Arad. They were awarded the Israel Prize for their design of the Biomorphic House in 1998. The two were born in the same hospital and have a similar sense of design.
Ayuk was born in Jerusalem, Israel. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Technion, Haifa, Israel in 1984, and then continued on to earn his Master’s Degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1986. After graduation Ayuk moved to New York City and attended Pratt Institute where he earned his Masters degree in Architectural Design.
Ayuk is also a published author in his field as he has written several books on design. These books have received favorable press in publications such as the Architectural Digest, Architectural Record, Architectural Review, Architectural Record, and Art News.
